i2r appoints new managing director to lead next phase of growth

Market-leading aluminium foil tray manufacturer, i2r Packaging Solutions, has appointed Benito Sala as its new managing director.

Sala joins i2r with more than 20 years of international leadership experience across fast-moving industries, including chemicals, automotive, aerospace, FMCG and industrial manufacturing. He will report directly to Marco De Lellis, CEO of Contital and managing director of the Laminazione Sottile Group Container Division.

The appointment follows a period of organisational transition, with the business strengthening its capabilities and processes while building on its position as a major European supplier of aluminium food packaging. With the support of Contital and the wider LS Group Container Division, i2r continues to focus on operational excellence, customer service and long-term growth. Sala’s appointment reflects the group’s commitment to strong leadership and to ensuring the business consistently delivers for customers across its markets.

With a reputation for developing high-performing teams and improving operational performance, Sala brings extensive experience in leading cultural change, managing complex corporate reorganisations and driving improvements in demanding manufacturing environments.
