The new release highlights Sapling’s pioneering mission to adopt the latest environmental practices and innovative thinking in an ever evolving landscape to offer consumers a fully regenerative vodka that helps regenerate the soil. Roberts shares Sapling’s drive for environmental stewardship and has supported Sapling with his expertise in regenerative agriculture, ensuring every aspect of the vodka’s production aligns with sustainable practices and supports local farmers.
Regenerative farming practices go beyond sustainability; they focus on rebuilding soil health, enhancing biodiversity and capturing carbon from the atmosphere to provide a carbon-negative vodka. The regenerative wheat is grown in Kent, farmed using sustainable techniques, free of insecticides and fungicides. The wheat is then fertilised naturally, creating a closed-loop system that prioritises the health of the land. The entire production process, from farm to bottle, takes place within a one-mile radius, with low-carbon koji fermentation and minimal transportation, ensuring the vodka’s environmental footprint is as small as possible.
The new regenerative vodka has rich tasting notes of caramel, citrus, and chocolate orange, and is complemented by earthy and buttery undertones. Spirits lovers can enjoy in a Sapling Spirits Regenerative Vodka Martini made from 50ml Sapling Regenerative Vodka, 15ml Riesling Reduction and 10ml Dry Vermouth.
Since founded in 2018, Sapling Spirits has been at the forefront of driving sustainable practices in the drinks world. Recognised as one of the most innovative spirits brands, it has championed a zero-waste philosophy in cocktail making and pushed both bars and consumers to adopt a different approach when it comes to sustainability. Co-founders Ed Faulkner and Ivo Devereux have made it the brand’s mission to combat climate change through regenerative farming and reforestation, while also launching eco-friendly initiatives such as refill packages for consumers, recycled aluminium cans for Virgin Atlantic airlines and the use of ‘wonky’ fruits in their spirits which would otherwise go to waste. Sapling strives to deliver premium products that also have a positive environmental impact.
“Our goal was to create a product that truly highlights sustainable farming practices. With this new product, we’ve found a perfect way to share that story. It’s also one of the most exciting creations we’ve made—a brilliant balance of sustainability, sophistication and simplicity. I can’t wait for people to try it,” says Ivo Devereux, co-founder of Sapling Spirits.
Julius Roberts says, ‘I’ve admired Sapling from afar for a long time. It’s a brand that lives and breathes its commitment to nature and environmentalism - from grain to glass. Planting a tree for every bottle sold is just the cherry on top for a brand who’s eco credentials run deep. The grain for their core range is organic; they plant trees (320,000 so far) with local initiatives that support local communities; and their commitment to sustainable packaging has saved over 300,000 bottles from entering the supply chain. It's also of course a delicious vodka. So when Ivo and Ed, who are old friends of mine, invited me to join the company I thought it was an absolute no brainer. I look forward to helping them get the recognition they deserve with a brand model that I hope influences others for the better.”
Each bottle is a celebration of British craftsmanship, captured in Sapling’s signature gold leaf bottle, symbolising their gold standard of sustainability.
Sapling Spirits’ Regenerative Vodka will launch in retail with Jeroboams and online on both their own website and Amazon and is priced at £55.00 per bottle.
