Krispy Kreme, the nation’s most loved sweet treat brand, has revealed three freshly-made, handcrafted doughnuts co-created with its fans to mark 20 years since the brand opened its first shop here in the UK.
From the 4th of September until the 15th of October, shoppers will be able to purchase the three limited edition flavours - Hazelnut Kreme Krisp, Sticky Toffee Swirl, and Tesco exclusive Confetti Celebration.
The new flavours are a fusion of timeless tradition and innovative flair, designed to mark 20 years of Krispy Kreme in the UK. Customers and loyal fans were given the opportunity to co-create the range on social media, helping to design an iconic doughnut of the future.
Krispy Kreme started as a hole-in-the-wall shop selling freshly made doughnuts to the people of North Carolina. It first came to the UK in 2003, with a concession in Harrods, the prestigious London department store. Since then, the brand has gone from strength to strength and currently has 128 shops across the UK and over 1,400 cabinets with key retail partners, including Tesco.
Driven by an unwavering commitment to deliver freshly made, hand-finished doughnuts daily to the British public, Krispy Kreme has successfully etched its legacy as the ‘OG’ of great doughnuts, dedicated to spreading joy across the country.
Jamie Dunning, President and Managing Director said: "These limited-edition doughnuts capture the essence of Krispy Kreme’s passion. Our reputation built over 20 years has been defined by a commitment to handcrafted excellence and new ideas. Our new exclusive birthday range reflects our dedication to continue delighting customers by creating fresh, delicious doughnuts that bring joy to every occasion. We will continue to evolve with consumer needs and we eagerly anticipate what the next 20 years and beyond bring.”
Krispy Kreme is constantly looking for innovative ways to help people share joy. Its latest loyalty campaign, ‘Spin to Win’, gamifies its popular reward app by giving Rewards Members the chance to win a share of 20 million ‘Smiles’ (the brand’s loyalty points) between the 25th September and 8th of October, over World Smiles Day on 6th October. The rewards will be able to be shared as gifts with those who are special to them. For members selfless enough to do this, Krispy Kreme will be awarding bonus Smiles as a thank you for their act of generosity.
To commemorate its birthday, Krispy Kreme will also be running a buy-one-get-one-free promotion on the new, co-created doughnuts on the 5th of September.
The handcrafted, made fresh daily birthday range inspired by Krispy Kreme’s UK fans includes:
Hazelnut Kreme Krisp doughnut - a creamy hazelnut filling, with the exterior dipped in white chocolate and then rolled in a crispy wafer crumb.
Sticky Toffee Swirl doughnut - filled with sticky toffee flavour, then dipped in chocolate icing and topped with caramel biscuit, toffee crunch pieces and a delicate swirl.
Confetti Celebration doughnut - inspired by birthday cakes, it contains cookie dough and biscuit filling and is dipped in yellow icing which is decorated with stars and frosting. This is exclusively available at selected Tesco shops.
