Leading packaging machinery manufacturer, ULMA Packaging UK, will exhibit at the British Leafy Salads Association (BLSA) Open Day 2026, showcasing packaging technologies designed to support efficiency, product protection and automation across the fresh produce sector. The event is being held on 1 July at Chadwell Park Farm, Great Chatwell, Newport, Shropshire.

ULMA Packaging UK will feature its VTI640 Vertical Form Fill Seal (VFFS) system with patented Venturi™ technology, highlighting its advanced capabilities for delicate fresh produce applications. The Venturi system delivers three key benefits for fresh produce packers: protecting products by minimising the risk of items becoming trapped in the cross seal; saving on materials by shortening pack length by more than 20%, reducing waste and cutting packaging costs; and increasing productivity through smoother, faster operation with more than 15% less rework, helping production lines run more efficiently.

The company supplies packaging machinery and complete automated lines for food producers and processors across a wide range of applications. Its portfolio includes vertical bagging (VFFS), horizontal flow wrapping (HFFS), thermoforming, tray sealing and integrated automation systems. Its technologies are designed to help fresh produce customers optimise operational performance, improve pack presentation and support sustainability objectives through efficient material usage and reliable sealing performance.

Barry Cox, regional sales manager - produce, at ULMA Packaging UK, commented: “The BLSA Open Day provides an excellent opportunity to engage directly with growers, processors and packaging professionals within the leafy salads sector. As this is our first time exhibiting at the event, we’re looking forward to showcasing how ULMA’s packaging technologies can help fresh produce businesses improve efficiency, reduce waste and maintain the highest standards of product presentation and shelf life.”

ULMA Packaging UK supports customers throughout the entire packaging project lifecycle, from initial product trials and pack development through to line integration, installation, training and aftersales service.
