DataLase, the global leader in photonic printing solutions, is set to make its exhibition return at UK Packaging Expo 2025, taking place at Manchester Central, Hall 1, from 3-4 September. Exhibiting on stand C36, the company will join forward-thinking businesses in championing the future of sustainable packaging, demonstrating how its proven photonic printing technology is helping brands reduce waste, improve traceability and meet demanding environmental targets.

As pioneers of innovative, sustainable and environmentally friendly inkless printing solutions, DataLase has spent nearly twenty years leading developments in the packaging, printing and production industries. They have provided trusted solutions that not only cater to today's high-speed manufacturing demands, but also align with global environmental initiatives.

At the show, DataLase will demonstrate a live laser activation system, allowing visitors to experience its technology firsthand. Using its inkless coding technology, the system showcases how brands can code at the point of packaging without inks. The system uses focused laser light to create high-contrast, permanent codes directly onto packaging surfaces, without the need for traditional inks. It’s fast, clean, low-maintenance and capable of on-the-spot, inkless variable data printing in real-time. From batch numbers and expiry dates to barcodes and traceability codes, the solution works seamlessly across a variety of substrates and applications - ideal for brands looking to eliminate inks, improve recyclability and reduce waste.

Paul Dustain, CSMO at DataLase, said: "It’s an exciting time for us to be back on the exhibition circuit and supporting our Northern colleagues at UK Packaging Expo. This event provides us with a valuable opportunity to meet new contacts and reconnect with long-standing customers, while showcasing the sustainable benefits of our technology - benefits that have been delivering real-world value across multiple industries for decades.”

DataLase’s patented technology is used worldwide across multiple sectors, offering easy integration into high-speed production lines. Its inkless solutions reduce waste, downtime, and maintenance while delivering consistent, tamper-proof, and regulatory-compliant codes. These benefits have driven lasting partnerships with converters, suppliers, OEMs and brand owners.

On hand at the show will be Tim Bedford, technical sales manager and Jonathan Snodgrass - an experienced member of the R&D team; both will help visitors understand the commercial and sustainability benefits from adopting laser-reactive solutions and provide technical insight into how DataLase systems integrate with packaging lines and various substrates.
