Ingredients

50ml Smokehead Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky – original

23ml Triple sec

Ginger beer

Garnish – wedge of orange

Method

Fill a highball glass with ice. Add the Smokehead Whisky and Triple Sec. Stir. Top with ginger beer and garnish with the orange wedge.

Tasting notes:

Nose

Fiery with heavy, earthy peat and woodsmoke. Extremes of spices and sweetness – fresh lemon, zesty ginger and rich plum jam notes

Palate

An explosion of breathtaking peppery, peaty heat, soothed by honeyed sweetness, before the smoke comes to the fore again via notes of salt, spices, seaweed, and smoke

Finish

Exotic spices and a curious citrus tang of mandarin, both lulling you into a false sense of calm as the peat roars back to hit your senses again.
