Five Farms Irish Cream Liqueur has landed a two-star gold medal at the Great Taste Awards for its “buttery rich profile, and its huge burst of rich, thick, fresh cream”.

The esteemed panel of 500 experts hailed the luxury drink, produced from five farms in County Cork, Ireland, as “delicious” and noted how “the fresh cream and whiskey are well melded to delightful effect”.

Five Farms, owned by McCormick Distilling International Ltd, took home the coveted prize on July 29th, following a blind taste test by the panel of chefs, critics, food writers and buyers.

The panel wrote: “We detected Dulce de leche and caramel on the nose along with a buttery rich profile. The mouthfeel was indulgent and viscous and the flavour delivers a huge burst of rich, thick fresh cream.

“We felt that the balance of alcohol and creamy sweetness work well and the drink wasn't too cloying. The finish was pleasingly buttery and creamy.

“Creamy and sweet on the nose, this slips onto the palate with ease. The cream is obviously high end and is well balanced with the sweetness but we are missing some of the whisky flavour that we would love to come through more. The cream is so good it can definitely take it with ease!

“A lovely and luscious iteration of Irish Cream liqueur - beautifully balanced while markedly rich on the palate. What we love here is the palpable dairy flavour.

“Of course it's sweet and indulgent and not the most complex of products, but entirely delicious. Fresh cream and sound whiskey are in evidence and well melded to delightful effect.”

The award by the Guild of Fine Food is the world’s largest and most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme and follows their Double Platinum Award and Best in Category win for cream liqueurs at the esteemed Ascot Awards in 2024.

Crafted in County Cork, Ireland, Five Farms is the world’s first farm-to-table Irish cream liqueur, made with cream gathered from just five family-owned farms dotted along the Cork coast.

It’s then combined with superior local Irish whiskey - 10 times more than any other mainstream branded alternative or supermarket copycat.

Five Farms launched in 2017 and has since expanded across the US, Ireland and the UK. In recent years, new markets have also emerged across Europe and Asia.

Tara O’Reilly, Five Farms Brand Manager, said: “It’s a fantastic feeling to see Five Farms get the recognition it deserves, especially as we are only in the second year of our UK launch.

“Being endorsed by the world’s largest and most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme is a great reflection of the quality and luxury of Five Farms”.

“In an ever-growing market, it’s been a huge success hearing all of the positive feedback from industry experts that fully understand the heritage and quality of the brand. The feedback from industry experts about the delicious taste and huge burst of fresh cream reflects what we're hearing from our consumers and testament to our production process”.

“For us, the main focus is now preparing for Christmas, a key time for gifting and indulgence. We want to ensure Five Farms continues to stand out amongst the festive chaos.

“This award gives us fantastic momentum as we head into the busiest and most exciting part of the year.”
