The Gym Kitchen Expands Chilled & Frozen Meal Offers

The Gym Kitchen is continuing its trail-blazing NPD drive, with a range of NEW frozen and chilled high protein ready meals launching across Tesco and Sainsbury’s respectively this month.

NEW High Protein Buffalo Mac & Cheese, Pesto Chicken Pasta and BBQ Chicken Pasta have just landed in Tesco frozen fixtures, followed by NEW Thai Red Chicken Curry and Sweet Chilli Chicken Noodles hitting Sainsbury’s chilled aisles later this month.

Introducing a NEW ‘Pan-Cooked From Frozen’ format to The Gym Kitchen range, Buffalo Mac & Cheese and Chicken Pesto Pasta provide two servings in each 700g pack, delivering 64g protein per pack.

The new range couldn't be simpler to cook: straight from the freezer, into the pan with just a splash of water, they are ready in under 15 minutes.

Following its popularity as a chilled dish, BBQ Chicken Pasta has been developed into a NEW 400g frozen ready meal option, packing 33g of protein.

Chilled NPD in Sainsbury’s

Continuing its Sainsbury's chilled range expansion, The Gym Kitchen’s NEW High Protein Thai Red Chicken Curry and Sweet Chilli Chicken Noodles debut on 16th September.

Developed to lean into the takeaway-style and trend for globally inspired flavour fusions, both 400g meals are high in protein and a source of fibre. Thai Red Chicken Curry delivers 30g protein, 386 kcal and 6g fibre per pack, while Sweet Chilli Chicken Noodles delivers 37g protein, 426 kcal and 6.4g fibre. The new meals also have full green traffic lights for fat, saturates, sugars and salts.

Expansion of Existing Ranges

The healthy meals challenger is also expanding its existing ranges across multiple retail and convenience channels. The Gym Kitchen’s High Protein Sausage range has bagged NEW listings in Asda, while the brand’s Frozen Meals range has gained further distribution across Sainsbury’s and Onestop.

Together with its recently unveiled first-to-market High Protein Paprika Wedges, earlier this month, the new launches tap into mainstream mealtimes, as part of The Gym Kitchen's NPD-fuelled growth drive across multiple categories.

The Gym Kitchen Founder, Segun Akinwoleola, said: “Bringing exciting new flavours and formats to functional food is something we’re proud to lead from the front on at The Gym Kitchen and we’re excited to expand our footprint across multiple retailers and channels.

“Our new ‘Pan-Cooked From Frozen’ meals deliver ultimate convenience and introduce a more versatile traditional cooking element vs conventional heat and eat meals.

“We’re delighted to launch our new chilled meals - our community has been requesting these dishes for a while, so it felt right to bring them to Sainsbury's this way.”
