Latest trend reports suggest that 2026 will be another big year for ranges with a strong nostalgic pull, and products with compelling retro ties; specifically timeless dessert flavours which are increasingly being infused into product ranges as diverse as teas, granolas, chocolate bars, alcoholic beverages and of course sugar confectionery. Such flavours foster familiarity, reassurance and a ‘knowing nod’ to altogether simpler times.

In 2025, Stockley’s added a Jam Roly Poly & Custard to its expanding speciality sweet carton offer, which quickly established itself as a firm loyalist favourite, whilst paving the way for a Lemon Meringue to lead the line in 2026.   On this occasion, the modern twist on this zingy citrus yet sweet treat consists of an involving lemon & vanilla shell paired with a tangy citrus centre.

According to Stockley’s Head of Marketing, Andy Valentine, ‘A perfect storm of spiralling chocolate prices over the last 18 months, coupled with a growing appetite for strong, playful flavours and fun sharing formats has not only been integral to confectionery’s renaissance but for the growing popularity of contrasting yet compatible flavour marriages.  Early research suggests that lemon meringue hits the perfect sweet spot that appeals to both younger inquisitive taste buds seeking a punchy zingy hit and older consumers revisiting happy memories
