Scottish Bee Unveils Cranberry & Ginger Honey As Its Latest Festive Hero

With Scottish Food & Drink September already in full flow (an ambitious month-long celebration of Scotland’s world-class food and drink movement), the start of Autumn provides the perfect opening for Scottish Bee to unveil its latest festive favourite, Cranberry & Ginger Blossom Honey.

Blossom honey, the humble hero of Scottish Bee’s last revelatory launch, a truly decadent and intensely chocolate spread, once again takes centre stage, this time playing host to zingy cranberry and the warm, spicy tingle of ginger.

Today, our island produces only 20-25% of its annual honey needs, which means retail spread fixtures have increasingly become unwitting hosts to cut-price exports; whose frequently ‘padded out’ propositions dominate the shelves, putting our nation’s beekeepers on the back foot.

Encouragingly progressive UK retailers like Ocado, Marks & Spencer and Holland & Barrett are now working tirelessly to reverse this long-standing trend, but in order to succeed, they need access to homegrown honey innovation that goes the extra mile in terms of taste and flavour ingenuity.

‘We’re very proud of our latest addition,’ exudes Scottish Bee co-founder, Suzie Millar, ‘it spreads perfectly on toast, adds extra oomph to one’s home baking and even brings a little extra theatre to that all-important, morning mug of tea.

Better still, as the latest supporter of our Repollinate charity (supporting school education schemes and planting wildflower bee havens), this seasonal blend is perfectly placed to showcase the distinct skills set of Scottish beekeepers, whilst supporting the rural economy.’
