Crosta Mollica, the UK’s fastest growing premium Italian pizza brand, has secured nationwide listing for its new white ready-to-top pizza base - Pizza Base Bianca - four new Neapolitan-style pizzas and its Garlic Pinsa Bread, across March and April 2026. An active response from the brand to the increasingly consumer demand for more premium retail pizza options, demonstrable by Crosta Mollica’s 48% growth in 2025, against a total pizza sector which only grew by 1%.

Pizza Base Bianca

White pizzas – those made without a tomato sauce – are becoming increasingly popular with UK consumers. This can be seen in the increasing choice across Italian restaurants, and is something Crosta Mollica is experiencing with its Collezione Romana Bosco di Alba pizza, one of the brand’s most popular options.

As the authority on ready-to-top sourdough bases (the Crosta Mollica tomato Pizza Base is the number one-selling SKU across the portfolio) and in response to the growing demand, Crosta Mollica is launching a new Pizza Base Bianca (vegetarian). Offering consumers a new canvas for ‘make your own’ pizza nights, it is made using the brand’s signature ‘Lievito Madre’ base and topped with a creamy mozzarella sauce and cracked black pepper. Unique, simple and quintessentially Italian - respecting the Crosta Mollica’s core values when it comes to innovation.

According to a pizzerias trend report from thefoodpeople, white, or ‘bianco’, pizzas are on the rise in the UK, with more restaurants offering cream- and cheese-based alternatives to traditional tomato bases, reflecting growing consumer demand for innovative, premium flavour experiences.

Launching on 13th April 2026 in the chilled aisle in Sainsbury’s and Tesco stores nationwide. RRP: £3.25

Garlic & Rosemary Pinsa Bread

In the UK, garlic bread is often served as a pre‑made, heavily buttered baguette-style product, the opposite to the traditional Italian approach of simple, lightly dressed bread that lets olive oil, garlic and quality dough take centre stage.

Crosta Mollica is filling this gap by launching its Garlic & Rosemary Pinsa Bread. A new SKU inspired by traditional Roman pinsa, known for its paddle shape and cloud-like texture - a high hydration dough made using lievito madre and a blend of wheat and rice flours, slowly proved for 24 hours, then hand-stretched and topped with fresh rosemary and garlic. Drizzled with extra virgin olive oil for a light crumb and distinctive crunch, every pack will also include a garlic-flavoured extra virgin olive oil dosette for an added and fresh flavour boost. This highly versatile product is perfect straight from the oven or as an accompaniment to an Italian feast of pasta, pizza, stews and salads.

Launching 13th April 2026 in the chilled aisle across Sainsbury’s and Tesco stores nationwide. RRP: £3.95

A Quartet of Pizzas

Crosta Mollica is also adding four new pizzas to the collection, including:

Primavera: A celebration of vegetables and in response to the growing demand from consumers for more vegetable-based pizzas, the Primavera features Crosta Mollica’s signature tomato sauce and Lievito Madre sourdough base. Topped with Taggiasca olives, famous from the Ligurian region for their exceptional flavour, red onions infused with Aceto Balsamico di Modena PGI, mozzarella, grilled courgettes and peppers, artichokes and Crosta Mollica’s unique lemongrass and mascarpone sauce.

Launching on 13th April, chilled in Sainsbury’s stores nationwide, and frozen with Ocado in March. RRP: £5.75

Siciliana: Created in the style of renown Puttanesca sauce, the Siciliana pizza delivers a flavourful yet cheese-free experience. Suitable for vegans, the Lievito Madre sourdough base is topped with Crosta Mollica’s signature tomato sauce infused with garlic Taggiasca olives, PGI Tropea Red Onions from Calabria - famed for its sweetness - and dried caper crumb for saltiness, as well as Sicilian oregano and fresh spinach. All resulting in a layered and balanced flavour profile.

Launching exclusively to Tesco in the frozen aisle, RRP: £5.75

Quattro Formaggi: Crosta Mollica’s take on a well-loved classic. The slow-proved sourdough base is topped with tomato sauce and four carefully selected Italian cheeses. Tangy Gorgonzola and smoky provola mingle with creamy mozzarella, and, as a final touch, a generous handful of Parmigiano Reggiano. An elegante pizza made for Italian cheese lovers. Not suitable for vegetarians

Now live on Ocado. RRP: £5.50

Salami Napoli Pizzette: Thanks to the overwhelmingly positive reception to the Salami Napoli Pizza by consumers, originally launched in March 2025, Crosta Mollica is launching a 2-pack 20cm frozen pizzetta format. Like the original, the pizzas will feature the Lievito Madre sourdough base, topped with Pomodoro Sauce and Mozzarella, premium thinly sliced Pepper Salami, Buffalo Mozzarella and Smoked Provola cheese for an enriched taste.

Now live on Ocado. RRP: £5.75

David Milner, Chairman at Crosta Mollica, comments: “The growth we are seeing across our pizza portfolio, both in the UK and across Europe, is absolutely phenomenal. In fact, we have recently secured the number two position in supermarket pizza sales (up from number five just 18 months ago). This inspires us to continue to explore different corners of Italy, discover new toppings and flavour combinations to bring to the UK, and innovate – always inspired by the vibrant and ever-evolving pizza culture in Italy. We are thrilled with how popular our ready-to-top pizza base is, and by developing the Pizza Base Bianca, we aim to give our customers even more choice and freedom to be creative at home – as long as there isn’t a pineapple in sight, of course!”
