Tried, Tested and Loved on Milk Rounds, Oato Chocolate's Retail Launch Marks Something Fresh for the Category

Tried, Tested and Loved on Milk Rounds, Oato Chocolate's Retail Launch Marks Something Fresh for the Category

Thanks to significant growth and increasing sales, Oato, the Lancashire-based oat drink business will extend its range in both Tesco and Waitrose stores with the launch of Oato Chocolate. From 14th October 2026, Oato Chocolate 1 Litre (RRP: £2.20 ) will be available to buy from 285 Tesco stores and 225 Waitrose stores nationwide this week.

This is a significant moment for the business as they bring a new flavour and innovation to the multiples. Unique to the category, Oato Chocolate is a fresh oat chocolate drink. It has just the right balance of sweetness and deep rich chocoloaty flavour. Oato Chocolate makes a great refreshment to go, can be poured over cereal, or added to coffee for a mocha experience!

While almost all other oat milk brands on offer are UHT, Oato is fresh - and you can really taste the difference. Oato is among the few to offer a high-quality, great-tasting fresh dairy alternative at a price shoppers can afford every week.

Commenting on the launch, Founder of Oato, Carl Hopwood, said;

“We are so excited about this launch, in part because Oato Chocolate is truly delicious, but also of course because this sees us extend our shelf space, in not one but two major retailers. Our mission remains to bring delicious, fresh, British made oat drinks to breakfast tables across the country!”

Already the best-selling fresh oat drink on British milk rounds, Oato is widely available across Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Waitrose and on Ocado.

Oato stands out for many reasons, not least for its sustainability credentials. A British brand that manufactures in the UK using 100% British oats, their carbon footprint and associated carbon miles are among the lowest of any plant milk on sale today. Their bottling site in Lancashire is solar-powered, producing more power than needed annually.
