Seasonal produce is the hero in MR. WHITE’S GIN cocktails: BEETROOT

Autumn is all about earthy flavour notes and warm colours and so this latest cocktail from MR. WHITE’S GIN, the spirit created by star chef Marco Pierre White, is celebrating the season with beetroot.

Autumn is all about earthy flavour notes and warm colours and so this latest cocktail from MR. WHITE’S GIN, the spirit created by star chef Marco Pierre White, is celebrating the season with beetroot.

In this latest in a series of savoury cocktail recipes embracing seasonal produce MR. WHITE’S presents a riff on a classic Bramble – the Beetroot Bramble.  It tastes as good as it looks: the savoury beetroot combines with the sweetness of simple syrup and blackberry from the Crème de Mûre and the elegance of this particular London Dry Gin with its slightly floral notes.

MR. WHITE’S Beetroot Bramble

  • 50ml MR. WHITE’S GIN

  • 25ml Freshly squeezed lemon juice

  • 20ml Beetroot juice (from cooked beetroot - but not pickled)

  • 15ml Sugar syrup

  • 10ml Crème de Mûre

  • Ice (crushed or cubed)

  • Garnish: Fresh blackberry

Method:

Shake the gin, lemon juice, beetroot juice, and sugar syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a rocks glass filled with crushed ice (or cubed).  Drizzle the Crème de Mûre over the top and garnish with a fresh blackberry.

Look out for MR. WHITE’S GIN in its distinctive white bottle adorned with a red wax seal at selected Sainsbury’s stores, Sainsburys.co.uk, Thresher’s, Fine Wines Direct, Master of Malt, Amazon and other good online retailers (RRP £32.99 / 70cl bottle)
